Goxhill Bowls Club, located in the heart of Goxhill village, has made a start on its building extension funded by National Grid’s second donation to the club through National Grid’s Community Grant Programme.
The new extension, which will sit at the front of the club house will facilitate visiting players providing an area to store belongings and seating during the competing season.
Chair of Goxhill Bowl Club, Chris Ellis said, “It’s a great asset to the club and much appreciated! There was no place for our visitors to sit down before, so been given the funding from National Grid we’re able to provide somewhere for them to sit, as we play frequently around 4-5 times a week, we needed somewhere to accommodate our guests.
“There’s plenty of people that will get a jolly good use out of this as we’re part of three different leagues of up to 12 people. The extension was wonderfully purpose made for us by a local company using amazing quality materials that will last a long time.
“We also look forward to using the extension in the winter as well, it will be great for people to hang up their wet coats from the rain and dry off ahead of our matches.”
The project has currently finished its first step in building a good strong base to make it last. When complete and ready for the team at Goxhill Bowl Club to get back to bowling, the next phase will be to put the finishing touches to the interior such as blinds, coat hooks, tables and chairs.
